eM is back in 2023 with the return of Chris Russell, whose "Still", "Spectra" and "Venus" releases have been some of the most purchased / downloaded among our growing catalog. This time, however he is joined by an old friend. Greg Moorcroft has been quietly recording high-quality pastoral ambient music as 'eyes cast down' for the better part of a decade, though this marks his first release on earthMANTRA. "Fragments" is the second collaborative work by this pair, following on from 2014's "Memory Palace" (available on Greg's Bandcamp page linked below).

Chris and Greg has this to say about this second joint release:

Chris’ Notes:

A sci-fi, Portal-like collection of songs spanning the passage of three years in production. After the completion of Memory Palace I made it known to Greg that I wanted to work with his ambient guitar zones and explore the serene environments that he crafts so expertly well. A polar vortex and pandemic, among other big life events, happened during the recording of this album, and all of those experiences and energies found their way to this album through our use of sounds and emotions laid bare for all to hear.

This album slowly came together over time and while was a fun experience for Greg and I, it became a growth experience as an artist for me as well. I'm looking forward to seeing where this musical collaboration will go next.

The earthMANTRA roster has long been a distinguished group of artists, and I’m thrilled to join it.

Like our 2014 release Memory Palace, Fragments was several years in the making. Chris and I had more of the same enjoyable back-and-forth this time. Once again, I sent him finished (or so I thought) parts and he worked his magic on them.

I took inspiration from classical composers for a couple of my parts, which ended up being reflected in the track titles.

Big thanks to Chris, Geoff and Steve for being great to work with! Love always to Daci and Janina. Jaya Jaya Gurudev.

I'm thrilled to welcome these two talented artists and old friends, and the fruits of their most-excellent partnership, to the eM roster.
